Green Products

What is it?
It stands for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design.
It is a rating used to distinguish the sustainability of one building versus another. In other words it provides for buildings the same measuring stick that gas mileage gives to cars. It was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Why is this important?
As you are probably aware, more and more demands are being made on those of us in the building trades and Sign & Awning companies are no exception. That is why we have partnered with suppliers of raw materials and sign products that are committed to providing LEED certified products.

Most of the materials that make up the Signs & Awning products that the MASA Co produces comes from 100% recycled aluminum, 30% post consumer and 70% post industrial material. Acrylic at 55% post industrial. Steel is the only material for which LEED allows a default recycled content value (25% post consumer) without documentation.

LEED value:
The average LEED credit per $ of sign is approximately .30, to calculate the LEED credit multiply your purchase cost in dollars to the LEED credit per dollar value of the signs.

Example:
$1000.00 Sign cost
X .30 LEED credit
$ 300.00 LEED credits
