Today Michael Anthony Sign And Awning Company is using it’s acronym MASA. Daily through our broad range of capabilities which is enabled by the very best personnel, we design, fabricate, install, and service sign and awning products for some of the biggest names in the world. MASA’s national network of field proven professionals allow us to provide the necessary reach and scope of service that regional and national clients have come to rely on. Our unwavering commitment to total customer satisfaction has let MASA to develop and offer an unheard of 24-hour turn around time for electrical service in our home market.

It all started with a few simple ideas and a core set of principles. MASA’s humble origins trace back to 1988 when Michael Anthony Sign Design Shop, Inc. opened for business operating out of a small garage in Jersey City, hand built by owner and founder Michael A. Bradley. Driven by his dreams to be a leader in his field, fueled by an inner fire to succeed and financed on a shoestring, Michael started out as "The Designer, Manufacturer and Installer" for his new enterprise. Before the end of the first year in business, he found himself overwhelmed by the demand for his services from existing and new customers alike. Michael had transformed his lifelong passion for art and an innate interest in graphic design into a business which both embraced his talents and challenged him to continually expand them.
Because integrity lies at the core of all that he does, Michael has always focused on developing a feeling of pride in one’s work, a “can-do”-results oriented attitude and a strong, family-like sense of teamwork within his business.
The fundamental principles and the company-wide culture of excellence which results from their practice dramatically distinguishes MASA from the ordinary members of our industry. An overriding commitment to exceeding out customers’ expectations and a passion for producing superior products and extraordinary service at a reasonable cost; that is “The MASA difference”.
By 1990 the sign industry had entered into a period of profound change, challenge and opportunity. Most local sign shops had saturated the marketplace with similar, undifferentiated products and typically, their level of dedication to customer service and satisfaction was severely lacking. Noting these disturbing trends, Mr. Bradley, quickly understood that the firm’s continued growth and success was dependent on differentiating his company by diversifying. Close consultation with his associates and a thorough evaluation of emergent technological and product enhancements in our industry led to a decision to add a new product line or service. “Comfort leads to stagnation” is a favorite saying of Mr. Bradley. Thus, being comfortable with the status quo has never been an acceptable option for him or for his company.
In 1991 a thorough investigation of the awning and canopy industry confirmed that an eager market awaited. The decision to diversify was made and we began to manufacture awnings and canopies utilizing patented and exclusive, proprietary extrusions to support them. This innovation, when added to our superior quality signage product line, resulted in the explosive growth of our business and a new name for our company. In order to reflect our newly acquired capabilities, we became Michael Anthony Sign and Awning Company.
1991 brought more exciting and profound changes to our renamed enterprise. Not only had we broadened our product offerings, we also expanded our footprint in the marketplace from a regional to a national level. Our stellar reputation had drawn the attention of our industry. Consequently, Michael Anthony Sign and Awning Company was solicited by a growing number of out-of-state Sign and Awning Companies to provide our services on a sub-contractor basis.
Driven by the necessity to accommodate the growing demands of our valued customers, MASA saw a dramatic expansion of its facilities and expertise. We further added to our growth and manufacturing capabilities through the acquisition of several of our competitors’ Awning and Canopy Companies.
